Christmas Show Poster Contest

Deadline- April 25, 2025

It’s time to start thinking about Christmas or at least about Christmas artwork! We are in need of a poster design for our 2025 Christmas Show.

Images can be paintings, drawings, graphic design, photography, etc.  But, artwork must be your own. No copywrite infringement please-and yes we do check.

Make considerations for open space for text. Please do not add text.  We will do that after an image has been selected to ensure all details are correct.

Each person can submit up to three designs. Yes, you can resubmit previously submitted artwork from past poster contests.

The winner will be selected by majority vote by the membership and shoppers at the summer show.

Winning image will be used on all show promotional items. The artist’s signature will be displayed in the bottom corner on all printed materials.

Glow up your About Me

Do you have an about me page?
If you do - when was the last time you gave it an update? If not- why not?
Now would be an excellent time to give it a glow up. Here are a few ideas to make your
about me glow and shine.
Did you spell check?
If you composed it on your page builder-copy and paste the text into a word processor and check it for grammar and spelling errors. Have a friend or family member double check for errors.
Check it on both desktop and mobile views.
Does it look great in both views or are there some tweaks that need to made to make it
work optimally in both platforms.
Remove Jargon and extra words
Most people skim websites rathe than read every word.  Make sure that every word in your
about me or bio performs an important job, and get rid of any unnecessary content. Remove jargon, abbreviations and acronyms. It might be helpful to set a goal to remove 10% of the words.
Provide Navigation and Wayfinding
Your about me is an experience that your customer is having with your brand. What
do you want that experience to be? Use clear headings and navigation links to make sure
that users can find what they are looking for and that you have given them a place to navigate to after learning all about you.
Include a call to action
Your about me page should give customers who are ready to make a purchase an easy way to do just that.  Adding that buy now button and a learn more link give customers a way to keep engaging with you.
Do you have at least one photo of you?
Consider having a professional brand photographer do a brand shoot for you that will give you images of you that are professional and in alignment with your brand.
Share your why
Your why is the change you want to see in the world, the thing only you can do and is why you are passionate about what you are creating for customers.  Sharing this is huge and possibly the most important part of your about me.

Lastly your about me should show your overall brand voice. Is your brand
whimsical, technical, energetic, luxurious or maybe quirky?  Use your about me to
show that!

Don’t have a website? Many of these ideas can also
be used for your artist’s bio!
