Creston School Art Night Recap

Summary by Erin Solin

ACF artists rekindled their community teaching in a big way this
past March with Art Night at Creston School. Prior to Covid ACF
hosted an art night at Lakeside School every year that was a large
part of our community outreach. Many of the valley’s smaller
schools have to scramble to provide extra curriculum progrms
especially in the arts and that is where ACF comes in. As part of our
outreach program, we have a group of artists that like to teach and
share their talent with students of all ages.

While the Creston Art Night was short notice, our amazing group
rose to the task and provided an amazing evening of fun and artistic
talent. Classes included rock painting, diamond art, clay creatures,
soap making, block printing, nature weaving, dream catchers,
jewelry making, sea glass art, art journaling and layered pop out gift
boxes. Many of the kids got to attend more than one class and we
alway encourage the parents to join in,as long as they do not
interfere with the kids learning. While it was a chilly evening the
sounds of laughter were heard around the school as the children
and parents happily painted and created together with an amazing
group of artist teachers.

This program is available to all schools as part of our outreach
program and we encourage all of our members to join in and share
their passion with eager students and teachers. If you know of a
school that would like to have this type of event please let the club
know and if you would like to participate in the next art night as a
teacher please let Lindsay know.

ART NIGHT was March 11, 2025
We provided 11 art classes to over 60 students!
